Appraisal Services

$1800.00 and up

So, you filed a claim and received an estimate and an initial check from the carrier but it’s simply not enough money? In many cases, policies allow the appraisal process as a method of claim dispute resolution(this can be found in your policy language). This method is typically a quicker solution and less costly. By hiring Elite Claims we will review your claim, inspect your property and complete a thorough and complete scope of work that not only showcases the work for the damages that are apparent but also provide an estimate for the additional work that will be required. With the appraisal process it ‘s considered a legal binding determination so there’s no going back after the fact. That’s why it’s important to ensure you have a complete and detailed scope of work and a correlated estimate. To ensure you are awarded the right scope of work at market prices.

Umpire/Expert witness

$2500.00 and up

When utilizing the appraisal process as your method of claim dispute many times the two appraisers (you hire one and the carriers hires there’s) are unable to agree or come to terms amongst themselves. When this happens a disinterested 3rd party known as the umpire is hired. Typically the insured and the insurance carrier split the fees associated with hiring an umpire (this fee is in addition to the appraisal cost). The umpires job is to look at all estimates and inspect the property for damages, review photos prior to repairs, ensure state and local building codes are met and offer an estimate that one or both of the appraisers need to agree to. Reason we say one or both is it only takes one but in some cases it’s important to get all three signatures as it solidifies the agreed estimate figures.

Expert witness would be of consideration if you have to go to court as a claims dispute method which in this case attorney’s will call on experts to stand trial. We have a Florida general contractors license as well as a Florida roofing contractors license to provide expertise throughout the entire construction process and how it correlates to the claim handling practices.
